"Let
me tell you that we here at Hollowood's are
a little more than impressed with the new EVH
5150 III. We're the first dealer in the Pittsburgh
area to get one, and we spent over an hour playing
it the moment we got it in. It's a great sounding
amp, and extemely versitile. We played through
the matching EVH 4x12 Cab that's loaded with
the special design 20w EVH Celestion speakers.
The amp has a very simple but effective layout.
It's a 3 channel design with Gain, Low, Mid,
High, Volume controls on each channel and 3
separate Presence controls, one for each channel,
grouped at far right. The amp is very dynamic,
touch sensitive, and responsive to your hands
and the volume control on the guitar on all
channels."
Clean
Ch. (1): Fender Bassmanish for sure. That is
the benchmark for this channel. Goes from crystal
clear to heavy crunch and anywhere in between.
Crunch
Ch.(2): Very Marshallesque, like a cranked Plexi.
EVH brown sound perfected.
High
Gain Ch. (3): Very smooth and full bodied lead
channel. Unbelieveable amounts of Gain and sustain.
