Tommy Bellin studied music at the University of Pittsburgh where in 1987 he was awarded the First Annual Mellon Jazz Scholarship. In 1988, he was voted "Best Jazz Bassist" by the readers of In Pittsburgh. Tommy has recorded and performed with such groups as The Platters, The Drifters, The Coasters, ex-Winger guitarist Reb Beach, Supertramp guitarist Carl Verheyen, guitarist Steve Dudas of the Ringo Starr All-Star Band, Seymour Duncan, Prince saxophonist Eric Leeds, Pittsburgh favorites B.E. Taylor, Billy Price, Joey Grushecky, Donnie Iris, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Walt Harper and radio stations WDVE and 3WS' "Home For The Holidays". Tommy also can be heard playing on the major motion pictures "Cemetary Club" and "Striking Distance". Tommy has also recorded and performed with contemporary Christian artists Kathy Trocolli and James Ward. Locally, Tommy can be heard with the group No Bad Ju-Ju as well as Orchard Hill Church in Wexford where he is the staff bassist.
